Buying and Selling:
If you are looking to downsize your library for trade or a little extra cash, consider bringing them to Autumn Leaves!

1. Bring in your books: We are happy to look at just about any books, as long as they are in good condition (no major staining, warping, underlining, or spine damage). If you have the equivalent of 3 or less grocery bags of books, and there is a buyer free to look at them, we're happy to get through it in 10-20 minutes while you browse our collection, pop upstairs to the record store, or grab a drink from one of the many great coffee shops on The Commons. If there is no buyer available, an employee will take your name, address, and phone number, and we will get to it as soon as possible.
2. We make an offer: A trained book buyer will go through your books and select ones we are interested in buying. During intake, we try to give you an accurate time frame to expect a call, but please note that pending unforeseen circumstances we may take upwards of two weeks to reach out.
3. Make the trade: It is your choice if you would like to sell your books for cash or store credit, the credit being 50% more than our cash offer. You can then come back to the store to pick up your leftovers and trade.
Buying and Selling FAQ
How much will I get?
We can not estimate how much we can offer without fully appraising each book in person. We might offer more for books based on edition, print run, popularity, and how many we may already have in stock.
Do you buy every book?
While we are happy to look at every book, in general we can only invest in books our customers are willing to buy. This means we are not able to take books in poor quality, self published books, books we receive many copies of, etc. Likewise, we are not an appraisal service, so we ask you do not bring books in for us to value without the intention of selling them.
What happens to the leftovers?
In general, we ask that you come and pick up the books we can not buy. We are happy to make exceptions if you are leaving town, have transportation issues, or if there are very few leftovers. If your leftovers have not been picked up within 7 days of contacting you, or if we have come to a prior agreement, they will be added to our dollar cart or donated at our discretion.
What if I don't want anything in return?
Autumn Leaves is happy to recieve donatations of books in good condition, however, we do not have the ability to dispose of large quantities of books, so please don't use us as a recycling bin!
What are you most likely to buy?
We are a general used bookstore with over 60 unique genres, but our best selling sections are: New and Classic Fiction Genre Fiction Childrens books Philosophy Poetry
