Open Positions:
Full-Time (Salaried): 40 hours/week | $42,000/year
Part-Time (Hourly): 16–24 hours/week | $20.19/hour

Who We’re Looking For:

Our ideal candidate is an independently motivated individual with bookselling experience who can assess the needs of the business and plan accordingly. We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves books, whether they read deeply in a few key subjects or widely across genres. Familiarity with social media, especially Instagram, as a tool for marketing and business promotion is a strong plus, as is an interest in coordinating events, managing logistics, and helping to create engaging experiences for the community. The right person will also bring a cooperative mindset to workplace decision-making and contribute their own unique experience or skillset to the role.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Open and close the store, balance the register, finalize paperwork, and complete transactions using our POS system.

• Keep the store organized and clean by shelving books, restocking inventory, and creating visual displays.

• Manage recycling, garbage disposal, and daily cleaning tasks according to proper procedures.

• Learn new technology systems as needed and assist with listing, monitoring, and fulfilling orders through our eBay store.

• Create a welcoming environment by engaging with customers and offering thoughtful book recommendations.

Requirements:

• Availability on nights and weekends and flexibility for seasonal scheduling changes (e.g., holidays, tourism).

• Comfort working independently without constant supervision.

• Physical ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours, bend and reach frequently, and lift boxes up to 40 lbs—often while using stairs.

• $42,000 annual salary

Introductory Period:
All new hires will undergo a 90-day introductory period. This time allows both the employee and the employer to evaluate performance, compatibility, and expectations to ensure a strong long-term fit.
